She was considered one of the pioneers of great pastry in the country, Myriam Camhi managed to create one of the most important and beloved brands in Bogotá and Colombia. Today the world of gastronomy is mourning the departure of a woman who changed the furniture business for something sweeter and who invoiced her first soursop meringue in 1982, which she sold for 3,000 pesos of about 12 portions.

Myriam Camhy turned 80 on December 25. He was born in Buga and studied at the Liceo Benalcázar de Cali, but then he moved to Bogotá. “She was a very shy woman, but at the same time very simple and loved by all,” her daughter Denise Camhi told EL TIEMPO.

“With her family recipes and her sweetness, she opened a path at a time when there were not so many options in this type of pastry (…) In fact, many of the girls who started with us in the garage of the house, still continue to help us, keeping their recipes and their memory, because she inspired a lot, “added her daughter.
