Colombia exceeds the barrier of 18 thousand daily cases

Colombia broke its record for the second day in a row this Friday of new cases of Covid-19, with 18,221, which brought the number of people who have contracted the disease to 1,755,568 since the first infection was reported on March 6, 2020.

In addition to the high number of infections, the Ministry of Health indicated that there were 364 deaths, of which 327 correspond to previous days, and it is the highest number since September 1 when the country had 389 deaths.

Barranquilla had ten deaths from the virus and added 571 new cases, while in the department of Atlantic 172 cases were presented by Covid-19. The deaths were distributed in: three in Soledad and one in Malamabo.

The highest numbers of deaths were in Bogotá, with 101, followed by the departments of Valle del Cauca (32), Antioquia (27), Santander (25), Tolima (19), Nariño (18) and Cundinamarca (16).

The rest occurred in Norte de Santander (14); Bolívar, Huila, Quindío and Risaralda (11); Boyacá (10); Caldas (9); Magdalena (7); Caquetá, Cauca, La Guajira and Meta (5); Putumayo (2), and Arauca, Córdoba and San Andrés (1).

The figure of active cases continued to grow and stood at 108,301, which correspond to 6.19% of the people who have suffered from Covid-19, while 1,597,160 patients appear as recovered, 90.97% of the total.

The regions that reported the most new infections this Friday are Bogotá with a record of 6,107, followed by Antioquia (2,702), Valle del Cauca (1,271), Cundinamarca (940), Santander (765), Atlantic (734), Boyacá (638) and Risaralda (608).

Nariño (519), Norte de Santander (508), Tolima (494), Huila (484), Bolívar (442), Caldas (413) and Quindío (304) also had high numbers.

With this, the Colombia with the most accumulated cases are Bogotá (507,768), Antioquia (281,518), Valle del Cauca (145,281), Atlantic (98,615), Cundinamarca (72,582), Santander (71,666) and Bolívar (54,908).
