Curfew: the cities in Colombia that will have restrictions due to UCI occupation

Several cities in the country are experiencing complex times due to COVID-19. The increase in infections and the high occupancy of ICU beds are the main concern and motivation to take new measures similar to those experienced in August 2020. The Ministry of Health issued a circular yesterday, January 6, in which it establishes measures to cities with 70, 80, or 85% or more intensive care unit occupancy.

Antioquia and Medellín

The governor in charge Luis Fernando Suárez, reported that the East and Valle de Aburrá will have a continuous curfew during the weekend. The curfew is established for the Aburrá Valley and the East of Antioquia: from Friday the 8th at 7:00 at night, until Tuesday, January 12 at 5:00 in the morning. In the other subregions, the measures that had been previously announced are maintained: curfew every day, until the holiday Monday, January 11, from 10:00 at night to 5:00 in the morning of the following day.

The entire department will have a dry law from Friday, January 8 at 7:00 p.m., until 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12 of the same month. The peak and schedule measure is also maintained.

The occupancy of ICU beds in Medellín is 87%, this is the main reason for the measures established by the local authorities. The area of ​​greatest concern is the East of Antioquia where there is only one bed available, its occupancy is 99%.

Cali

In the capital of Valle del Cauca there will be a peak and a cedula, a night curfew and a dry law. The local authorities defined these measures due to the high occupancy in Intensive Care Beds, which is 94%.

For this Thursday, January 7, the peak and ID in Cali works like this: people who have an identity document ending in even numbers (2, 4, 6, 8 and 0) can enter commercial establishments where the measure governs. Likewise, in banking, financial and public entities. The measure applies until January 12. For even days, for example January 8, those with identity documents ending in odd numbers (1, 3, 5, 7 and 9) may leave.

The dry law begins to take effect from 10:00 pm on Thursday, January 7, until 5:00 am on Friday, January 8. The curfew was established from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am the next day.

Bucaramanga Metropolitan Area

After reaching an ICU bed occupancy of 78.78% in the city and 82.89% in the metropolitan area, Governor Mauricio Aguilar announced that “with the aim of safeguarding the lives of citizens without affecting productive life, in Puesto of Unified Command we decided by consensus to maintain the measures recommended in decree 0856 of 2020 until January 16 ”.

For the Kings Bridge there will be a curfew as follows: it begins on Friday, January 8 at 10:00 pm and ends on Tuesday 12 of the same month at 5:00 am Then, on January 16, the measure governs from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am the next day.

“During the curfew of the Puente de Reyes the exit and entry of the department is restricted, except for those who present toll tickets or documents that support reservations,” Aguilar said.

The peak measure and two-digit schedule per day is in effect until January 16. For this Thursday, January 7, people who have identity documents ending in 1 and 2 will be able to leave, and tomorrow Friday will be numbers 3 and 4.

Cúcuta and Norte de Santander

The measure that had been operational in December was extended by the Cúcuta mayor’s office until January 18 due to the 87% occupancy of ICU beds. Mayor Jairo Yáñez indicated that in the city there is a slight decrease in the occupancy of ICU beds but the hospital red alert remains. For its part, the Government of Norte de Santander established a curfew until January 12.

In Norte de Santander the curfew applies from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am the next day. The measure applies today, Thursday, January 7, and runs until the 12th of the same month.

In Cúcuta there will be confinement on the weekends of January 8, 9 and 10 and January 15, 16 and 17. In other words, the curfew begins on Friday, January 8 and 15, from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am on Tuesday 12 and Monday 18 respectively.

The peak and cedula in Cúcuta continues to operate in an even and odd mode. For this Thursday, January 7, citizens with identity documents ending in odd numbers (1, 3, 5, 7 and 9) will be able to leave.

The sale and consumption of intoxicating beverages in public spaces is also prohibited between 7:00 at night and 5:00 in the morning; as well as meetings with a capacity of more than ten people.

Atlantic

With the accompaniment of the Government of the Atlantic, in a virtual meeting, the municipal leaders agreed to apply restrictive curfew and dry law measures, each municipality must issue its decree to reduce the risk of contagion. The restriction will be in force from Friday, January 8 at 10:00 p.m., until Saturday, January 9 at 5:00 a.m. and will be repeated this Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A.M

“Although in the department the speed of contagion is maintained and the occupation of Intensive Care Units has not exceeded 58%, in recent weeks there has been an increase in cases in the department related to different factors. This situation makes us maintain our daily evaluation and monitoring actions in each of the municipalities because we will not lower our guard, ”said the governor, Elsa Noguera.

The Governor of Atlántico also reiterated the call to the community to maintain self-care and biosecurity measures.

Villavicencio

The occupancy of ICU beds in the capital of Meta is around 75%. The mayor, Felipe Harman, decreed a curfew and bill and a cedula facing the Kings Bridge.

Ibague

With 85% occupancy of ICU beds in the capital of Tolima, local authorities announced that they are following the instructions given by the Ministry of Health.

The mayor, Andrés Hurtado, decreed a curfew from Thursday, January 7 to 12 of the same month. The measure begins at 7:00 pm and ends at 5:00 am on Tuesday, January 12. Then, from January 12 to 16 there will be a nighttime ringing as follows: from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am the next day.

During these days, vehicles cannot circulate on the streets of Ibagué either. Supermarkets and restaurants must operate only through addresses.

Quibdo

The mayor of Quibdó, Martín Sánchez Valencia, decreed, according to the National Government circular, a curfew and dry law from Friday, January 8 until 18 of the same month.

In the capital of Chocó, the sale and consumption of liquor in public spaces and commercial establishments will also be prohibited during the Kings Bridge, which runs from tomorrow, Friday, January 8, to 11 of the same month. The mobility of private vehicles and those of special service that have recreational and tourism purposes to Tutunendo, Chaparraidó, Icho, Pacuarita, Guadalupe, La Troje and the spas of the Cabi and Atrato rivers will also be restricted.
