On the morning of this Sunday, the director of the Huila sectional Prosecutor’s Office, Aida Melissa Claros Arce, confirmed that a specialized judge from Neiva sentenced a man to 41 years and 5 months in prison for his participation in a kidnapping.
“After evaluating the evidence provided by the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, the First Criminal Court of the Specialized Circuit of Neiva (Huila), convicted José Janier Arias Coronado (…) of handing over privileged information about his boss to a criminal group that kidnapped him“, assured the prosecutor Claros.
According to the accusing body, it was established that Arias Coronado took advantage of the condition of steward of a farm and provided details about the movements and routines of the owner of the property.
Therefore, he was charged with the crimes of aggravated extortion kidnapping, aggravated simple kidnapping; manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition, and aggravated robbery.
“On January 7, 2017, on a road in the village of La Mesa, in Paicol (Huila), armed men They intercepted the truck in which the owner of the property was traveling with his 16-year-old son, and detained them against their will“, the prosecutor reviewed.

The men bandaged and tied hands and feet to the father and the minor and then took them to an unknown place.
“The adolescent was released in a wooded area, while the family of the victim was demanded 2,000 million pesos for the release“, highlighted the official.
The kidnappers were caught in flagrante delicto in a procedure by the Police Gaula.

Days later, the vehicle in which the owner of the farm and his son were traveling was located in Cauca.
