Colombia receives 2021 with a slight decrease in the number of infections by COVID-19

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection reported, this Thursday, January 1, 2021, 12,105 new cases of coronavirus in Colombia. In the last 24 hours, 39,691 tests were processed, of which 23,667 are PCR and 23,667 are antigens.

The report also indicates that, between yesterday and today there were 282 deaths due to the disease. In this way, the country has reached a total of 43,495 deaths since the virus reached the national territory.

By aggregating all the figures, Colombia reached 1,654,880 infected of which 86,437 are active cases and 1,520,548 correspond to positive cases that have already managed to overcome the coronavirus

Regarding the regions with the most cases reported today, Bogota leads the list with 4,098 infections, followed by Antioquia with 2,117 and Cauca’s Valley with 1,003 positive cases.

There are 2,093 conglomerates in the country. The territories are: Amazonas, Antioquia (Ituango), Arauca, Atlántico, Barranquilla, Bogotá, Boyacá, Bolívar, Buenaventura, Caldas, Caquetá, Cartagena, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Huila, La Guajira, Magdalena, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, Risaralda, San Andrés, Santa Marta, Santander, Sucre, Tolima, Valle, Vaupés, Vichada, Guaviare and Guainía.
