Jorge Avendaño, father-in-law of the well-known singer of Silvestre Dangond, died this Saturday morning in a Barranquilla clinic because of covid-19.
As detailed by some acquaintances of the family, Avendaño’s death came after several days of being admitted to the Porto Azul Clinic in the capital of the Atlantic.
Avendaño was married to Magaly Calderón, sister of the journalist, Patricia Calderón.

He leaves behind four children, including the lawyer Piery Dangod, Silvestre’s wife and mother of his three children: Silvestre José, Luis José and José Silvestre.
His death caused pain and shock in Valledupar, where he was widely known for his entrepreneurial spirit, charisma, and joviality.
“He was a simple human being, generous, full of joy. He had many businesses in Valledupar and he stood out precisely for his entrepreneurial spirit ”, said a friend of the family.
Although Silvestre has not yet spoken, he met unofficially, who was always aware of the health of his father-in-law, attentive to everything he required.
Precisely on December 24, Silvestre had published on his instagram, a message for all his self-care followers. “People have lost respect for the virus, prevention measures are hardly taken anymore. He also regretted not sending a positive Christmas message, but said it was “time to reconsider.”
