The Ministry of Health confirmed 243 more deaths from covid-19 in Colombia, of which 220 correspond to previous days. With this update, the total number of deaths in the country rises to 41,174.

This Wednesday, December 23, the health authority also reports 14,233 new infections in the last 24 hours, after 80,032 tests were processed: 49,847 PCR and 30,185 antigens. This is the day with the most new cases and the most tests performed.

It is worth mentioning that, since the first case (confirmed on March 6), a total of 7,681,709 samples have been processed in the country.

Thus, the country reaches 1,544,826 confirmed coronavirus cases. To date, Bogotá is the city with the most cases. The capital reached the figure of 438,854 confirmed infections after 5,214 more were reported this Wednesday.

The other territorial entities that most registered cases in the last hours were Antioquia (1.993), Cauca’s Valley (1,537), Risaralda (622), Santander (594) and Cundinamarca (518).

On the other hand, this report from the Ministry of Health indicates that, in the last 24 hours, 9,794 recovered patients were confirmed. Thus, there are already 1,404,168 patients who, to date, have overcome covid-19 in Colombia.

With this update, in total there are 95,315 cases that remain active in the country.
