Andrés Felipe Guevara was attacked by hitmen two days ago, when he was in the Mariano Ramos neighborhood, in the southeast of Cali, in the company of a man identified as Jorge Andrés Arbeláez, who was also injured.

The communicator had not received threats against him, which is why there is uncertainty in the journalistic union. In addition, Guevara was enjoying a vacation.

The journalist was hit twice in the stomach, one in the chest and one in the leg.

When a reward of 20 million pesos was announced, the commander of the Cali Metropolitan Police, Brigadier General Manuel Vásquez, had asserted that, preliminarily, they rule out that the hitman attack against the communicator is related to his profession.

However, the director of the Foundation for Press Freedom (Flip), Jonathan Bock, rejected the version of the Police and asserted that there are reasons to think that Guevara was attacked for his journalistic work.

Vásquez said that a team of investigators from the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office was organized to establish the motives for the attack.
