His death occurred this Sunday, after having entered a health center in the capital of Nariño on December 11, as a result of the serious injuries suffered by the three bullet wounds that unknown persons inflicted on him, when he was in his office of the Municipal Registry of that town located north of the department.
The national registrar of Civil Status, Alexander Vega Rocha, when confirming the unfortunate event, stated: “with great sadness, we regret to inform the country of the death of Carol Coral, our municipal registrar of San Pablo, Nariño.”
The official recalled that Coral had been the victim of a firearm attack, which he had condemned in a forceful and severe way.
“He again asked the authorities to act quickly, given that to date it is unknown what progress in the investigations,” the official stressed.
He also reiterated his call to the National Police and the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation to accelerate the investigations, which allow those responsible for the murder of the young registrar to be brought to justice.
“According to early information, Carol Coral received the bullet holes inside the facilities of the Municipal Registry of San Pablo, when she was doing her job, “said Vega, who added that moments later she had to be transferred to a health center in Pasto where she received high-level medical care.
Since that day the authorities investigating the case have not provided any information about the alleged perpetrators of the attack and subsequent death of the official.
