Given the most recent information about the decision to house for prison to the former rector of the Autonomous University of the Caribbean, Silvia Gette Ponce, the representative of that alma mater, Daniel Largacha Torres, told EL HERALDO on Thursday that they have no knowledge of a providence in this sense.
“We are not aware of the date of any judicial decision issued related to the freedom of Mrs. Silvia Gette Ponce or the granting of house arrest reported by the media. We have not been aware or notified about it ”, said the lawyer.
He added that it is worth remembering that “Mrs. Gette Ponce is sentenced in the first instance for the crime of breach of trust qualified to a sentence of 9 years in prison, which is being appealed before the Superior Court of the District of Barranquilla ”.
Finally, Largacha pointed out that, in fact, “before said court Mrs. Gette Ponce presented a challenge against the magistrates in charge of the process, which is pending to be resolved by the honorable Supreme Court of Justice”.
