At Junior from Barranquilla They complained bitterly about the work of the central referee, the Peruvian Victor Carrillo, and the VAR judges, the Ecuadorians Carlos Orbe and Augusto Aragón, in the match in which they were eliminated from the South American Cup.
After losing 1-2 in Barranquilla, Junior defeated Coquimbo Unido on Wednesday 0-1, but was left out of the tournament in the quarterfinals because the Chileans scored more goals as visitors.

At 11 minutes, when Junior was already up on the scoreboard, the VAR judges called Carrillo to review a play in the local area.
In the images you can see how defender Paul Gatica touches the ball with his hand, after trying to clear it and, while fighting with Miguel Ángel Borja.
The VAR judges told Carrillo that they saw an open hand and suggested that he go to the screen to see it again, as he had not initially noticed the matter.
This is how the VAR saw the hand play in the Coquimbo Unido area.
The conclusion that Carrillo drew is that Gatica was contesting the ball and that, when he wanted to head, the ball fell on his arm and that he did not make any additional movement, for which he considered that there was no penalty.
