Although the president of Dimayor, Fernando Jaramillo, ruled out the possibility that the games of the League final between America and Santa Fe would be broadcast on open TV just hours after the mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina, made the request, the proposal has the approval of President Duque.

This was recognized by the president in his daily program ‘Prevention y Acción’, where he pointed out that, although it is a private matter, from his place he will do everything possible to evaluate the viability of the event.

“It is a matter that is handled in private orbit, but all the will to explore possibilities. It is not so much about simply a sports show that generates a lot of anxiety and emotion in Colombians, but we also have to find how we avoid crowds. As it is a private decision, what we hope is to be able to find mechanisms and solutions, ”Duque said.

Ospina had asked the president to declare the first party of public interest to go on broadcast TV and thus avoid crowds in the city, which has just entered a red alert due to the high occupancy of the Intensive Care Units on behalf of the covid- 19.

Jaramillo, president of Dimayor, ruled out this possibility, assuring that “because of the contract issue it is impossible for the final to appear on open television, I don’t even wear myself out on that issue, that is ruled out.”

However, Duque’s statements could change the landscape.

The first leg of the grand final of the Colombian League will be played on Sunday from 6:00 pm at the Pascual Guerrero in Cali.
