Colombia reports 10,130 new cases of Covid-19

The Colombian Ministry of Health reported this Tuesday 10,130 new infections due to covid-19 with which the total number of cases in the country reaches 1,444,646, while the health authorities also reported 161 deaths, a figure that totals 39,356 deaths.

The country did not report more than 10,000 daily coronavirus infections since November 27, when they were 10,023.

Of the total cases, 72,834 are still active, corresponding to 5.04%, while 1,328,430 patients have already overcome the disease, that is, 91.9%.

According to the Health portfolio, Bogotá had the highest number of infections, with 4,052 positive cases, a figure significantly higher than that of Monday when 1,974 were reported.

The capital is followed by the departments of Antioquia (1,512), Valle del Cauca (1,058), Tolima (427), Bolívar (382), Cundinamarca (332), Atlántico (286), Norte de Santander (270), Boyacá (194 ), Meta (178) and Risaralda (161).

The highest accumulation of infections continues to be found in Bogotá (411,689), Antioquia (233,104), Valle del Cauca (121,146), Atlántico (83,382), Santander (58,937) and Cundinamarca (58,155).

In Barranquilla they appeared 191 infections and four deaths, while in the rest of the department 95 cases were reported, without deaths.

Of the deaths of the day, of which 142 correspond to previous days, Bogotá had the highest number, with 29, followed by Antioquia (20); Santander and Valle del Cauca (18) and Tolima (12).

There were also deaths in Norte de Santander (11); Cundinamarca (8); Goal (7); Quindío (6); La Guajira (5); Atlantic (4); Caldas, Nariño and Risaralda (3); Casanare, Cesar, Huila and Bolívar (2), and Amazonas, Arauca, Boyacá, Caquetá, Putumayo and Magdalena (1).

During this day, 63,614 samples were processed, 31,364 of them PCR type and 32,250 antigens, for a total of 7,186,191 tests carried out in the country.
