The finals
After entering as the best in Group A, the lionesses played the quarterfinals against Atlético Junior, who had classified as one of the best third parties. The first match ended with a score of 1-3 in Barranquilla and the return meant the cardinals’ first defeat in the tournament (2-3). However, thanks to the advantage in the first leg, they managed to advance smoothly to the semi-final.
Those led by Albeiro Erazo competed in this phase against Independiente Medellín Formas Íntimas. Overall 3-1, for 0-2 in the first leg and 1-1 in the second leg.
This Sunday the cardinals were crowned two-time champions after beating their counterpart America de Cali 4-1 on aggregate.
