After being introduced as the new coach of Deportivo Independiente Medellín, Hernán Darío Gómez spoke with the media of the Antioquia club about what he intends in this second cycle under the command of the powerful.
“I am very happy and grateful that Deportivo Independiente Medellín once again gives me the opportunity to lead the team. I feel very nervous, because it is a responsibility that I take very seriously, I must put all my senses so that the fans and the city have joy with this project that we will be working on, “he said.
On his arrival at the team, Gómez commented that “I had been talking to Raúl (Giraldo) for a long time, for different reasons he did not give himself the opportunity to return. I am very happy with the confidence he has in me and we want to rescue the team and put Medellín in the first places ”.
In addition, “we have been working together during all these days, this Saturday I appeared with the group of players at the sports venue. With the physical trainer we talked about a rest period for the players, where they will not lose their physical condition, then we will enter a preseason to start the competition at the beginning of January ”.
Regarding that pending debt that he had from his first stage directing the red, ‘Bolillo’ remarked that “I have always wanted to be champion with Medellín and now that I have this new opportunity, I will fight to get it. I ask the fans to support us a lot, to remain faithful. We are going to work hard so that things go well for us ”.
The former coach of Ecuador and Panama explained what his working group will be like. “It is made up of (Edgar) Panzer Carvajal as technical assistant, Daniel Gómez as technical assistant, Juan Mauricio Roldán as physical trainer, Didier Muñoz as goalkeeping coach and Óscar Pérez who will work with us and with the minor divisions.”
Finally, he sent a message to the DIM fans. “To the fans of the powerful I wish them the best, we want to be united, we love them very much and we need them to achieve happiness and glory in this new project.”
