The serial ran for twenty years and nine months, between 1956 and 1976. Del Carpio acted as Doña Alicita, the main character of the comedy.

At the end of the 70s, Del Carpio left the country due to threats against him. In an interview, he stated that he had doubts as to whether the threats were coming from recognized criminals or figures from the television medium.

In 1982 and 1985 he tried to bring his comedy back to life. But so many trips between Spain and Colombia affected his health to the point that he preferred to finish the program permanently.

Besides comedy, he also dabbled in drama, as in The Ibáñez, the telenovela by Bernardo Romero Pereiro.
