Millionaires have a single objective for the remainder of the season: qualify for the South American Cup. For that, the ambassadors must be the best team in the eliminated league, to reach the objective of the playoffs and fight for the quota.
The first step is to get through the group stage and that’s how it was. Those led by Alberto Gamero beat Boyacá Chicó 2-0 on the third date and with a perfect score they settled in the semifinal of this particular tournament.
In the first half in which Millonarios went from less to more, the capitalists began with difficulties in the delivery and possession of the ball, due to the fact that the chess team presented an orderly and quite tactical game in the middle of the field. However, those of Alberto Gamero were finding spaces, and with the passing of the minutes they managed to impose their idea of play on the field, generating danger in the rival goal.
The first clear option was generated by Juan Camilo Salazar at minute 18. The midfielder, who started at El Campín, received a great pass in the area from Felipe Román, but after being alone in front of the goalkeeper, anxiety beat him and sent the ball above the crossbar.
Minutes later, it was Kliver Moreno who put the Boyacense team’s goal on alert. A recovery of his in the middle of the handle, led to a good combination with Christian Arango, so that the ’10’ ambassador enabled the youthful Moreno, who, after going on the attack and being in front of the goal, hit the ball with great force, sending it over the top stick.

In the 38th minute, the ‘chicho’ received a good assist from Mackalister Silva from the left sector, to shoot the ball at first intention, volley; with such bad luck for him, that the shot was slightly deflected by goalkeeper Pablo Mina’s right post.
However, in the time of addition of the first half, the blue team got the much-desired goal. Juan Pablo Vargas took advantage of an oversight by the checkered defense to comb a ball at the near post and open the scoring in Bogotá.
In the second half, Millonarios, with three changes, including the goalkeeper -Juan Moreno came out for Christian Vargas-, entered the playing field with the same objective: classification.
The ambassadors did not take long to generate options and in the 56th minute they increased the advantage. A foul in the area on Christian Arango gave the affected man the opportunity to put the second on the board. The blue scorer, with category, transformed the infraction into a goal.
Boyacá Chicó reacted, but his approaches were not enough to discount the score. Vargas responded well to the arrival of the rival. The Blues, with the advantage of two goals and variants in the field, handled the game with discretion and kept the three points at home. Montoya was able to score the third of the night, but the stick denied him the opportunity in the last minute of the match.
With the victory, Millonarios stayed with group B of the Liguilla and settled in the semifinals of the tournament. His rival will be Once Caldas.
