The events took place on the night of candles, in the town of Ciudad Bolívar, south of Bogotá, when the three young men allegedly tried to rob a taxi driver, but as he objected they shot him, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
The residents of the sector told the Police that they heard several shots; one of them pointed out the three young men who were caught in flagrante delicto as responsible for the crime.
The taxi driver was injured in the car when the authorities arrived at the scene, for which he was transferred to a medical center, the accusing body reported. However, due to the severity of the injuries, the victim died.
Those named were charged with the crimes of homicide and illegal possession of firearms, but neither accepted the charges. Even so, a Bogota judge sent them to jail as a preventive measure.
