Given the increase in positive cases of covid-19 in the country, some cities decreed a curfew for the night of this Monday, December 7, and the early morning of Tuesday, December 8.

In the case of Barranquilla, one of the cities where candlelight day is most important, there will be a curfew from 11:00 pm on Monday until 6:00 am on Tuesday. This was established in a decree issued by the District this Sunday.

And although the meetings will not be prohibited nor will there be dry law, the District has made a call to celebrate with responsibility and following the biosecurity measures.

“Traditionally, December 7 is a date when friends and acquaintances meet, and it is precisely those meetings that are causing the infections. Our recommendation continues to be to hold small family reunions, ”asserted Jaime Pumarejo, mayor of Barranquilla.

In Cúcuta there will also be mobility restrictions between 10 pm on Monday and 5 am on Tuesday.

Cali and Medellín will evaluate behavior

While in the other capital cities they applied a curfew, Cali and Medellín have no restrictions.

In Medellin, Although at first this possibility was discussed, the Mayor’s Office ruled it out and decided to bet on a greater presence of the Public Force to guarantee security.
