EPM Board of Directors pronounces on accusations in the Hidroituango case – Medellín – Colombia

After Mayor Daniel Quintero called an extraordinary meeting for this Friday, December 4, the Board of Directors of EPM ruled on the indictment of 19 people for an alleged detriment of 4.1 billion pesos for irregularities in the contracting and execution of the Hidroituango project.

In a brief statement, the Board of Directors stated that it respects, complies with and collaborates with the decisions of the State’s control and investigation entities, such as the one issued by the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic.

Despite the foregoing, the Board and Management assured that the imputation decision made by the Comptroller’s Office does not alter the schedule for the execution and entry into operation of Hidroituango.

“He expressed to the General Management and the Administration of EPM the need to gather and consolidate all the organizational efforts for the successful completion of the Ituango hydroelectric project, in order to enter into operation in the first half of 2022, the date foreseen for that purpose, since the technical commitments and the spirit for the execution of the project remain intact “.

Likewise, they reiterated the importance of continuing the Hidroituango works until its completion, “without prejudice to the conciliation process and the steps that are being carried out in order to obtain compensation for the damages suffered by EPM in the project “.
