The new version of ‘Cafe, con aroma de mujer’ has already announced the official casting of its protagonists and some of the actors who will accompany them to bring back to life one of the most emblematic telenovelas in the history of Colombia.
The character of Gaviota, played by Margarita Rosa de Francisco in the original version, will be played by Laura Londoño, known for having been in La Ley del Corazón, Narcos and Elite Command; su couple and eternal love will be embodied on screen by Cuban William Levy, replacing Guy Ecker, who played Sebastián Vallejo in the first version.
The telenovela written by the mythical Fernando Gaitán, also known for creating Betty, La Fea, was broadcast for the first time 26 years ago on Channel A and was produced by RCN Televisión. Alejandra Borrero, Silvia de Dios, Cristobal Errázuriz and Constanza Duque participated in it. It also won a TVyNovelas award for best telenovela.
Now the cast is made up of Carmen Villalobos as Lucia, who wrote in an Instagram post that she was happy to take on a new challenge. “All beginnings are special but this one is even more so. Café con Aroma de Mujer, a tribute to our country, our countryside and our traditions My first antagonist in my beautiful country, with a group of very talented colleagues and with a wonderful story. So I share you with emotion and a little nervous“, he claimed.
Diego Cadavid is also added as Iván Vallejo, Mabel Moreno as Lucrecia de Vallego; Andrés Toro playing Aurelio; Katherine Vélez in the role of Carmenza; Licoln Palomeque, Leonidas Salinas; Luces Velásquez, Julia de Vallejo, Yarlo Ruiz, as Sonia’s son; Laura Archbold playing Paula Vallejo and Juan David Agudelo as Bernardo Vallejo.
According to RCN, the novel will focus on illustrating Colombia as one of the greatest exponents of coffee worldwide.
