“There are things that until they are lived, they are not known”, is the phrase with which Alberto Linero begins to talk about his personal experience.

The panelist, who on Thursday revealed in Blue Radio
that his father was hospitalized, he said that “he did not imagine how much it could hurt to live that experience” that he had only heard or seen in the news, “that some patients die alone in the clinics, because nobody can visit them.”

“My dad is in intensive care, hooked up to a mechanical ventilator, struggling for life, and even though he’s not sick with COVID-19
You cannot visit him either, because due to the virus data in Santa Marta, the clinic has prohibited visits, ”he explained about what his family is experiencing these days.

“He is alone, without any of us who love him and who would like to accompany him. His battle is not only against the pain that is always personal and non-transferable, but against the fact that we cannot be giving him the strength that the presence full of love generates.”Linero laments.

So, based on his painful experience, he invites people to do three things:

“Letting the people we love know how important they are to us (…) The time will come when we want to make them feel, but it won’t be possible,” he says.

The other thing is to talk with his loved ones about what to do in situations like the one his father is experiencing: “we had to make the decision whether to intubate him or not, we realized that we had never discussed this issue with him, that we did not know what I would like in those moments ”.

And finally, remember that the coronavirus “has not gone away and we must continue to take care of ourselves.”

“I am a man of faith and I live from my relationship with God, that is why I am open to his will and I trust that it is the best for me and for those I love,” he concluded.
