Thieves who planned to rob apartments in Bogotá mocked after being captured

On the night of last Wednesday, the Police were alerted by the community of the town of Engativá by a suspicious vehicle that was parked on Rojas Avenue. Immediately, the uniformed men went to the place, where they found four men, heavily armed, who planned to loot apartments in the area.

Initially, there was only one man in the car, who had a firearm. “With the support that came to the sector, from other quadrants, a deployment was made in the neighborhood where three more people are located, all men, who intended to enter a residence,” said Lieutenant Colonel Julio Salgar, commander of the Engativá Police Station.

When the uniformed men searched the three men, they found three firearms, knives, screwdrivers and rubber bands with which they tried to gag people. “Apparently this group is dedicated to the theft of residences in Engativá,” said Commander Salgar.

When they were transferred to a police station, the uniformed men were surprised because, during the police review and fingerprinting, the captured made faces when the police took the respective photos of each one.

The four men will be brought before the competent authorities for the crime of illegally carrying weapons. The Police asked the community to continue reporting any suspicious or violent event that could alter the coexistence and public safety.
