What is Firefox Private Relay?
This new free service from Mozilla gives us allows to create an alias of our email, that is, an email account automatically generated by the tool, but that all emails redirect to our original email account. In this service, we will have to register our real email account, and later the extension itself will generate an email account to register for the different Internet services, but always without giving our real email account to said services.
When we are going to register on a new website, or on a service that we are not entirely sure is good, we may worry about putting our email account that we use regularly. Have you ever received emails from subscriptions that you don’t remember subscribing to? Have you tried trying to unsubscribe and realize that you keep receiving those emails? Thanks to the creation of this alias of our email, we can easily create or delete that alias to stop receiving emails, and all without having to configure anything in our email from Gmail, Outlook or any other service.
The operation of Firefox Private Relay is really easy, when in a form we need to enter an email, automatically the Firefox extension it will detect it and can create an email alias automatically and without us having to do anything. This alias will create it in a totally random and unique way, that is, we will have a different alias for each of the services, in order to unsubscribe the alias (and even eliminate it entirely) whenever we want. For this reason, an alias is created for each of the services where we register, because if we eliminate a specific alias, we will not receive emails from any service where we have registered that alias.
When will Firefox Private Relay be available? Can I install it now?
Mozilla Firefox is still finalizing the Firefox Private Relay exit, as it is still in alpha phase and can only be accessed by invitation.
