As of this Tuesday, December 1, Colombians will be able to start scheduling their appointment on the website of the National Registry to be able to request the processing of the digital ID in the places that are already enabled in the country and that are closer of your place of residence.
The digital document has biographical and biometric data of the citizen and will be valid for 10 years. It includes the name, surname, identification number (which is the same as the physical identification number), place and date of birth, place and date of issue, sex, signature and photo.

The ID document process is easy and takes just over five minutes. 1. To get started, the citizen must give his identity card number.

3. Once the person confirms that the data that appears on the screen correspond, the official requests the current residence address, personal email and phone number (can be landline or cell phone).

4. The registration of the thumbprints of both hands. Once this phase is finished, on the screen, the citizen can observe the taking of the 10 fingerprints.
5. Follow the taking of the photograph of the document. Which is done in the same place through a small camera accompanied by light that is in front of the person.
6. Then, the citizen must sign on a small digital screen.

7. With this, the official shows a summary of all the data that was collected during the process and the person must indicate if they agree with them.
8. The citizen will automatically receive the digital password by email and within two weeks, the document will arrive, by the same means.
