Gale caused the fall of fences, trees and roofing in neighborhoods of Armenia
The strong gale accompanied by hail this Sunday afternoon caused several emergencies in Armenia. One of the sectors affected was the La Florida bridge due to the fall of a fence gate that generated panic for the drivers who were mobilizing in the area and registered vehicular damming which forced a restricted passage towards Calarcá.
Damage
The strong winds unroofed homes in the Buenos Aires Plano neighborhood, knocked down tree branches that obstructed the road corridors between Armenia – La Tebaida and Armenia – Montenegro, and also knocked down the figures with Christmas lights that adorn the De Sucre park sector in the center from the city.
Corporal Manuel José Román, of the official fire department of Armenia, said that they attended emergencies in the Recreo neighborhoods Under floods and landslides without human victims and that they were present in the Milagro de Dios neighborhood in commune 4 due to flooding due to the Sewerage deficiency in the populous sector.
Enlistment
The strong gale began around 4:00 in the afternoon throughout the city, relief agencies are in preventive readiness to attend to any emergency that may arise due to the second winter season that began in mid-September and will be extended during the Christmas season in the department of Quindío.
