Comptroller’s Office published 86 findings in the Bogotá Metro: cost overruns would exceed one billion pesos

The District Comptroller of Bogotá published in its most recent report that established 86 findings, of which Blu Radio reported, “45 are administrative, 38 disciplinary, 2 criminal and 1 prosecutor for a billion pesos in the process of selecting the controller of the project of the first line of the Bogotá metro”.

Some political detractors of the mayor of Claudia López spoke out about the fact. One of them was his former political contender, Hollman Morris, who told CityNews that “The process has been flawed and it was directed to deliver the project to a tied firm.”

On the other hand, the president of the Bogotá Council, Carlos Fernando Galán, referred to the extension of the project saying that “The debt quota that the administration has is insufficient and more than 4 trillion pesos remain pending”.

On the extension of the Metro line

On November 26, the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, and the manager of the Bogotá Metro Company, Andrés Escobar, They announced the route of the expansion of the Bogotá metro, which will reach the town of Suba, passing through Engativá, benefiting the inhabitants of 482 neighborhoods in the northwest of the capital.

The district president affirmed that the study, carried out in the midst of the pandemic, will make it possible to advance the city’s plan to have a multimodal and efficient public transport network.
