‘Jesús Santrich’, dissident guerrilla of the extinct FARC, reappeared in a video broadcast by social networks in which he thanked those who believed in them in the drug trafficking case against him, which caused controversy for allegedly having been a trap planted by the then attorney general, Néstor Humberto Martínez.

“On this subject, the main thing is that I would like to express my gratitude to those who believed in us, despite that media offensive of lies without evidence that was unleashed; first against my name and status as a revolutionary and then against Iván Márquez and other colleagues branded as drug traffickers ”, The heavily armed revolutionary leader began, accompanied by a man, also armed and with his face covered.

Among the people that ‘Santrich’ mentions as those who defended his innocence are Roy Barriers, who according to the dissident “He had no ideological identity with us, but he dared with others to defend our innocence and act for the peace of Colombia.”

The guerrilla also highlighted the courage of Iván Cepeda, Alirio Uribe, Piedad Córdoba and Álvaro Leyva.

The dissenter claims that these people “They did not allow themselves to be intimidated or cornered by those who tried to make them allies of the guerrillas for purposes of war, when in reality their true role was to be defenders of peace.”
