The Mayor’s Office of Bogotá announced that The money transfers corresponding to the fourth payment cycle of the Bogotá Solidaria District System – Bogotá Basic Income have just finished. A total of 481,313 households in the capital benefited from this program.

The total amount drawn was 68,632 million pesos, distributed through the operators Davivienda, Bancolombia, Movii and Bancamía.

According to the Marshall Plan proposed by the mayor of Bogotá Claudia López, among other points, a debt quota was approved for the country’s capital that adds up to a total figure of $ 10.7 billion, of which, $ 3.8 billion is allocated to this social program that provides a basic monthly income for around 900,000 families in the city.

The mayor’s office announced that the system, with the aid provided by the National Government and the resources of Bogotá, It has allowed 790,978 households to receive economic relief during four cycles.

This effort is intended to mitigate the situation of households living in poverty and extreme poverty, giving each one $ 240,000 pesos per month and to households in a vulnerable condition, $ 160,000 pesos each month.

”A historical record, an unprecedented effort between the Bogotá Mayor’s Office and the National Government to support more than 790,000 families who fell as a result of the pandemic in poverty. On the other hand, he announced that to date, 33,195 households have received 250,000 pesos each, “as a temporary contribution for solidarity leasing.”

Regarding food aid, which according to the mayor’s office includes markets, vouchers, hot food, food basket, snacks and purse cards, 11,538,620 have been delivered. Likewise, the local mayor’s office announced that perform a fifth cycle of cash transfers before the end of the year and which will be destined to households in conditions of poverty and vulnerability in the city.

With the Marshall plan, according to the mayor, come other benefits such as the freezing of property tax for some 2.4 million homeowners, discounts of up to 22% for companies of the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) and exemptions for cultural spaces such as theaters and museums.
