A serious act of violence once again mourns the inhabitants of the southwest of Antioquia. Authorities confirmed that around 3:00 in the morning of this Sunday armed men raided the La Gabriela coffee farm, located in the path La Julia, 30 minutes from the urban area of the municipality of Betania.
Mayor Carlos Mario Villada confirmed that the massacre left seven people killed and three seriously injured, who were referred to highly complex medical centers in Medellín.
It must be said that 10 armed men arrived at the site and fired indiscriminately at the 14 people who slept at the site. At the same time, the authorities assured that it would be a dispute between the Clan del Golfo and Los Gaitanistas.
For this new massacre, which adds to the murder of five people in Algeria, Cauca, Defense Minister Carlos Holmes Trujillo will arrive in Bethany to lead an extraordinary security council.
It should be noted that the minister had already traveled this year to the southwest of Antioquia due to the wave of massacres that affected the region in the middle of the year, in municipalities such as Venice, Andes and Jericó. Southwest Antioquia is the region with the highest increase in homicides this year in the department.
Last Saturday two other people had been murdered in Bethany, so there are 9 victims in that municipality in less than 24 hours.
