Colombia reports 8,307 new infections of covid-19 this November 14

The Ministry of Health reported, this November 14, 8,307 new cases of coronavirus in Colombia. In the last 24 hours, 55,611 tests were processed, 38,257 are PCR and 17,354 antigens.

The report also indicates that the number of deaths in the last 24 hours is 160. Thus, the country reaches a total of 33,829 deaths since the virus reached the national territory.

Colombia records in total 1,191,004 cases of covid-19, of which 56,883 are active cases and 1,097,576 correspond to positive cases that have already overcome the disease.

Regarding the contagion of the covid-19 by cities and departments of the country, Bogotá and Antioquia continue to lead, followed by Valle del Cauca.

There are 1,607 conglomerates in the country. The territories are: Amazonas, Antioquia (Ituango), Arauca, Atlántico, Barranquilla, Bogotá, Boyacá, Bolívar, Buenaventura, Caldas, Caquetá, Cartagena, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Huila, La Guajira, Magdalena, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, Risaralda, San Andrés, Santa Marta, Santander, Sucre, Tolima, Valle, Vaupés, Vichada, Guaviare and Guainía.

370 thousand people suspected of covid-19 have been tracked

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Fernando Ruiz Gómez, gave a part of how the PRASS strategy is progressing in the country and what was his visit to the department of Antioquia.

“At this moment we have 1,400 hired trackers working and we have tracked more than 370 thousand people suspected of having covid”He said, adding that this is the time that Colombians must contribute if they want to have a safe Christmas.

He stressed the importance of isolation, as well as allowing tracing, calls from the National Tracking Contact Center -line 19000- and the monitoring of suspicious people, in order to take the necessary measures and prevent the massive spread of the virus, especially during the upcoming holidays.

The head of the Health portfolio also referred to his meetings with the governor of Antioquia, the mayor of Medellín and his counterparts in the metropolitan area in which they reviewed the situation of covid-19 in the department.

“There is the commitment between the Government, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance to increase the payment of the Departmental Endpoint Agreement and with the department’s hospitals and clinics to support and advance the National Endpoint of the contributory regime”, he indicated.
