In that poll, called ‘Opinion Panel’, 2,004 leaders of the country were consulted, including congressmen, councilors, journalists and big businessmen, who no longer see Álvaro Uribe as one of the country’s influential politicians.

That was demonstrated in the vote for the best congressman, in which former President Uribe previously occupied the first places. It now ranks seventh (despite the fact that he is no longer in parliament) with 6% of the votes. He was surpassed by others such as Gustavo Petro, Angélica Lozano, Roy Barreras, Iván Cepeda and Jorge Enrique Robledo, elected as the best senator in the country, as seen in the following list:

It was precisely this result that most caught the attention of César Caballero, manager of Cifras y Conceptos, who at Caracol Radio said:

“What surprises me the most is the fall of Álvaro Uribe; he was normally the second most recognized congressman in the country, and now he ranks seventh ”.

For the same, Uribe acknowledged that his good image deteriorated, and that makes him sad; however, he assured that he will not stop “thinking” about the present and future of Colombia, as read in the following trill:

The good image of the former president has also been affected among ordinary citizens. The most recent Invamer survey, which consulted 1,200 Colombians, found that 61% have an unfavorable image of Uribe, while only 31% see him favorably.

The same indicates a poll by the National Consulting Center, where the majority of 305 consulted said that they would not vote again for the candidate of the leader of the Democratic Center.

In addition to Uribe, the Minister of Finance, Alberto Carrasquilla, was another of the worst rated by an opinion panel, in which it was also evidenced that the most widely read columnists in the country were from Semana.
