The Ministry of Health confirmed today that Colombia reached 1,174,012 confirmed cases of COVID-19. In addition, it already has 33,491 deceased and 1,081,691 recovered.

That means that on day 251 of the pandemic there are 56,254 active cases, a number that continues to fluctuate a lot.

For the results of this Thursday, the National Institute of Health analyzed 52,893 tests, 30,772 were PCR samples and 22,121 of antigen.

In today’s bulletin, Bogotá continues to lead with 2,205 new patients, followed by Antioquia (1,594) and Valle (1,204).

With more than half of these cases, Caldas (459), Boyacá (354), Santander (328), Tolima (314), Cundinamarca (309), Norte de Santander (233), Quindío (217), Risaralda ( 165), Huila (157), Nariño (130), Cauca (124), Meta (118) and Cesar (114).

And by below the hundred reported cases are Cartagena (97), Barranquilla (97), Caquetá (65), Atlántico (60), Arauca (58), Casanare (53), La Guajira (49), Córdoba (44), Magdalena (35), Santa Marta ( 26), Sucre (23), Amazonas (21), Chocó (15), Bolívar (13), Putumayo (12), Guaviare (8), San Andrés and Vaupés (2).

Deaths from coronavirus in Colombia today, November 12:

The death toll from the disease rose to 179; 163 of those victims belong to days before this Thursday.

The regions that register the most contagion are also those with the most victims. Bogotá registered 28 deaths, Antioquia had 27 and Valle another 23.

Lives were also lost in Cundinamarca (13), Norte de Santander (11), Quindío (10), Tolima (9), Huila (8), Risaralda and Santander (7), Caldas and Meta (5), Casanare (4) , Cordoba (3); Two deaths were reported in Barranquilla, Caquetá, Cartagena, Cesar, La Guajira, Nariño, and Sucre, and one in Atlántico, Boyacá, Cauca, Putumayo, and Santa Marta.

Meanwhile, by age, the victims were distributed as follows:
– 0 to 9 years: one person.
– 10 to 19 years: no person.
– 10 to 29 years: one person.
– 30 to 39 years: 2 people.
– 40 to 49 years: 6 people.
– 50 to 59 years: 13 people.
– 60 to 69 years: 43 people.
– 70 to 79 years: 57 people.
– 80 to 89 years: 45 people.
– More than 90 years: 11 people.

According to this, the youngest person to die was a 4-month-old baby in Valledupar who suffered from obesity and the oldest was a 96-year-old man in Medellín who suffered from cardiovascular and kidney disease.
