The victim of the case that shocked the inhabitants of the municipality of Maicao in La Guajira, was identified as Sneider José Murillo Mancilla, a 42-year-old merchant, who had just left the office of a bank where he withdrew a large sum of money.

According to authorities, the merchant owned a gym and a money transfer agency.

The aggressors fled the area as soon as they realized the crime they had carried out, in front of the victim’s children.

Murillo Mancilla, in an agonizing state, was taken to the emergency service of the Maicao clinic, where the protocols were started, but the wounds were very delicate and he died in a matter of minutes.

“We ask all the authorities that it is done not to go unpunished since the entire town of Maicao repudiates this painful fact that has us all in mourning”said Rafael Bermúdez, the victim’s brother-in-law.

Faced with the crime, Rafael Solano, Secretary of the Government of Maicao, specified that all investigations are underway to clarify the murder of the businessman.

“We only know that the investigations are on the right track, that they are being handled as efficiently as possible”, he specified.
