982 cases and 20 deaths from covid-19 this Saturday in the Valley

982 positive cases and 20 deaths attributed to covid-19 were notified this Saturday in Valle del Cauca by the Ministry of Health.

The report of this day is 8714 new cases throughout the country, most of them in Antioquia (1765) and Bogotá (1646).

In Colombia 190 people died, but 165 of those deaths occurred in the past days and were notified this Saturday.

20 of these deaths were registered in Valle del Cauca, in the municipalities of Cali (9), Palmira (4), Tuluá (3), Zarzal (1), Jamundí (1), Ginebra (1) and Andalucía (1) .

On this date, 48,659 covid-19 tests, 27,531 PCR tests and 21,128 antigens were processed.

With this figure, Colombia adds 1,136,447 covid-19 infections since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 72,228 are still active.

In addition, 32,595 Colombians have died from covid-19 and 1,029,082 have recovered from the disease.

Vaccine study begins in Cali

This week began the study of the vaccine by Janssen, a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, in Cali.

This was confirmed by the infectious disease specialist and director of the Ceip, Pío López, who pointed out that the inoculations began to be carried out since last Tuesday, November 3. During the first days, 30 people have already been linked to the study and a total of 500 volunteers are being sought for vaccination.

The trial will be divided into four groups: those under 60 years of age without comorbidities, those under 60 with underlying diseases, those over 60 without health problems, and those over 60 with controlled diseases.
