9,756 new cases of covid-19 are registered in Colombia: Bogotá and Antioquia continue to rebound

The Ministry of Health reported, this November 6, 9,756 new cases of coronavirus in Colombia. In the last 24 hours, 62,634 tests were processed, 35,856 are PCR and 26,778 antigens.

The report also indicates that the death toll is 196. Today, the country reaches a total of 32,405 deaths since the virus reached the national territory.

Colombia reached 1,127,733 infected of which 72,537 are active cases and 1,020,263 correspond to positive cases that have already overcome the disease.

Regarding the contagion of covid-19 by cities and departments of the country, Bogotá and the department of Antioquia continue to lead, followed by Valle del Cauca, Santander and Tolima.

There are 1,451 conglomerates in the country. The territories are: Amazonas, Antioquia, Arauca, Atlantic, Barranquilla, Bogotá, Boyacá, Bolívar, Caldas, Caquetá, Cartagena, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Huila, La Guajira, Magdalena, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo , Quindío, Risaralda, San Andrés, Santa Marta, Santander, Sucre, Tolima, Valle, Vaupés, Vichada, Guaviare and Guainía.

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Fernando Ruiz Gómez, in the company of local authorities and representatives of national entities, led the 66 Unified Command Post for the attention of covid-19 in the municipality of San José del Guaviare, capital of the jungle department from Guaviare.

At this meeting, Minister Ruiz Gómez, and the other entities analyzed the actions carried out in the municipal and departmental response plan against the virus, as well as the establishment of commitments for the challenges that follow.

Regarding the situation of the department, the minister pointed out that there are “1,535 cases presented to date, of which there are 111 active and 1,399 recovered. There have been 25 deaths in the department ”.

“With the contribution of the Government, different entities of the National Government have been able to consolidate an ICU capacity in which to date we do not have occupation, as well as an expansion process for the population and consolidation of the Departmental Health Laboratory”, he assured Ruiz Gómez, who also mentioned that yesterday there was a review of some municipal hospitals “against the response capacity” against covid-19.
