The Valle del Cauca reached a total of 67,552 covid-19 cases this Thursday since the pandemic reached the region, according to the most recent epidemiological bulletin from the Ministry of Health.
The health authority reported 757 new infections of the disease in the department during the last 24 hours.
Likewise, it confirmed 10 new deaths from the virus in the region, eight of which happened in Cali. The other two were registered in Palmira and Vijes.
In total, the department has registered 2,404 deaths from the coronavirus since the pandemic began. More than 70% (1,696) occurred in Cali, the capital.

National overview
The total number of covid-19 cases in Colombia reached 886,179 this Thursday, after the Ministry of Health confirmed 8,496 infections in the country in the last 24 hours.
According to the epidemiological bulletin, the laboratories nationwide processed a total of 42,155 tests, 23,264 of them were PCR and the other 18,891 were antigens.
The regions that reported the most cases between this Wednesday and Thursday were Bogotá (1,941), Antioquia (1,254), Valle del Cauca (757), Risaralda (375) and Cundinamarca (374).
The report also revealed that the number of recovered in the country grew by 3,685, bringing the total number of people who have overcome the disease in the country to 777,658.
Likewise, it confirmed that 151 more people died in the country from the new coronavirus, of which 20 were registered in the last 24 hours and 131 happened in previous days.
Colombia is the fifth country in the world with the most infections, behind the United States, India, Brazil and Russia, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
In deaths, the country ranks eleventh, behind the United States, Brazil, India, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Italy, Peru, Spain, France and Iran.
