640 infections of covid-19 in the last 24 hours and 19 new deaths confirmed by the coronavirus in Valle del Cauca reported this Thursday the Ministry of Health.
The department reached 76,407 cases of the disease and 2,644 deaths since the pandemic arrived in the region.
The deaths reported this Thursday were reported in Cali (14), Cartago (2), Buga (1), Yotoco (1) and Yumbo (1).
Cali, with 1,831 deaths, is the municipality of the Valley with the most deaths from the coronavirus.

At the national level
The total number of covid-19 cases in Colombia is already close to one million. This Thursday 8,570 new infections were reported, bringing the figure to 990,270 positives in the country since the first case was confirmed, on March 6 of this year.
Bogotá (2,299), Antioquia (1,739), Valle del Cauca (640), Huila (446) and Santander (436) were the regions with the highest number of new cases reported in the last 24 hours. The health authorities indicated that 51,544 tests, 30,840 PCR and 20,704 antigens were processed.
The Ministry also confirmed 8,817 new recovered in the country and 172 deaths, of which 153 belong to previous days.
In total, 893,712 patients have recovered from the disease in Colombia and 29,636 people have died.

Colombia ranks eighth worldwide in number of infections, behind the United States, India, Brazil, Russia, France, Argentina and Spain according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
In deaths, the country ranks eleventh, behind the United States, Brazil, India, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, France, Peru and Iran.
