The situation arose in the early hours of this Wednesday, when several citizens were passing through Las Ferias (western Bogotá) to go to work, and were intimidated by thieves, said Caracol Radio.

A witness told the station that a resident of the neighborhood went out to help the victims of the robbery, and there was a crossfire. The person who came out to collaborate ended up injured, and was transferred to a medical center by his own means.

One of the robbed youth he told RCN News that it was between 5 and 6 shots that were heard. His cell phone was stolen from him and his partner, he said.

This shooting is in addition to the shootings that occurred last week; in one a policeman died (in the north of Bogotá); in another, an emerald man and his escort (city center) died.

That is without counting a shooting in the Alfonso López neighborhood, in the town of Usme, southwest of the capital, which according to Caracol Radio appeared on Tuesday night.

The new cases of insecurity in Bogotá come a day after María Fernanda Cabal, and other congressmen from the Democratic Center, proposed to legalize the carrying of weapons.
