The information was reported by Noticias Caracol, a medium that, citing Migración Colombia, assured that the three people of Colombian nationality arrived on flights from Peru, Mexico and Spain, last Wednesday.

The three Colombians were detected at the checkpoints and were immediately isolated by the airport authorities, as well as those officials who attended them and who had contact with them.

The newscast said that Migration does not understand how these people were allowed to board the planes since they are infected with the virus, and mentioned that they came on flights of the “Viva Air, Iberia and Avianca airlines”

As the Colombians were transported on three different flights, the newscast assured that the health authorities had to make an epidemiological fence with passengers and crew members to verify who they were close to.

Semana, meanwhile, reported that all these people will have to undergo the PCR test to rule out a contagion, and that the three positive passengers apparently came “on humanitarian flights.”

Thus, and given the alert of a possible spread of COVID-19 on those flights, the two media coincide in saying that the authorities are investigating why these airlines allowed passengers to board when they are infected.

Also, they are investigating if these three people decided to travel even knowing that they have coronavirus, which would represent possible sanctions and could even be immersed in criminal offenses for deception.

Migration Colombia reports number of travelers at El Dorado Airport.

Beyond this situation, the immigration entity reported, through a statement, that in the first 11 days of opening international flights, some 15,000 foreign and national travelers arrived in Colombian territory, and that 34% of them did so for tourism .

The director of Migration Colombia, Juan Francisco Espinosa, said that 85% of travelers have completed the ‘Check-Mig’ application, making the control process faster and safer, and announced that as of October 1, “all travelers who wish to enter the national territory by air, they must present a negative PCR test for COVID-19 ”.

This test, he added, must have been performed no more than 96 hours before the trip or, otherwise, you could be denied entry.

El Dorado Airport announced that travelers who need to be tested to detect COVID-19 will be able to do so in a laboratory that was installed in the air terminal. In this video you will find more details about this service.
