250 policemen will guard the surroundings of the Romelio to avoid crowds

The Romelio Martínez stadium is the chosen setting for the return of Colombian professional football after several months of suspension due to Covid-19. Behind closed doors, in the traditional sports arena on Calle 72, starting at 8:00 pm, the first game of the Superliga final between Junior and América de Cali will take place.

For this reason, the district authorities have put in place a robust control device. Two vehicles of the COVID patrol will be in charge of conducting tours around the stadium to avoid crowds.

Likewise, the presence in the area of ​​20 counselors from the Ministry of Traffic and Road Safety, 10 volunteers from the Red Cross and 20 logistics agents from the Junior Club, while 8 officials will be in charge of the administration of the stadium.

“For this match between Junior and America, all biosafety protocols will be implemented, as governed by Resolution 1507 of the National Government, to safeguard the lives of the players and personnel authorized to enter the stadium,” said Clemente Fajardo, district secretary of Government.

Likewise, there will be 250 units of the Barranquilla Metropolitan Police, which includes all specialties, such as Esmad, police, traffic, surveillance, childhood and adolescence, which will be operating around the stadium. There will also be a person from the Risk Management Office, 2 fire brigades and 2 ambulances

“We will exercise control on the sports scene in order to ensure and guarantee public order inside and outside the stadium. We insist that the games will take place behind closed doors, so no crowds will be allowed around Romelio Martínez, ”added the official.

The established operation also includes the closure of Calle 72 between Carrera 44 and 46, as well as the closing of a lane of Carrera 44, from Calle 74 to the entrance of the Romelio Martínez stadium parking lot.
