$ 100 transportation fees go up in Barranquilla

Starting next February 1, a new rate will be in force for urban buses and Transmetro, as well as for individual taxi-type transport.

This was announced by the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Barranquilla, which approved an increase of 100 pesos in the rate of collective public transport and mass public transport (Transmetro).

Consequently, on ordinary days the passage will cost $ 2,400 for urban buses; while for Sundays and holidays it will be $ 2,500.

Meanwhile, the Transmetro ticket will remain at $ 2,500 for ordinary days (Monday to Saturday), while on Sundays and holidays this value will increase by $ 100 ($ 2,600).

Increase in taxis. AMB also authorized an increase in the minimum rate for taxis, which will go from $ 6,100 to $ 6,300, while the night and holiday surcharge was set at $ 1,800. Trips to the transportation terminal will have a surcharge of $ 1,000 and to the Ernesto Cortissoz airport of $ 4,900.

Librado García, director of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Barranquilla, stated that “the decision arises from a technical study within the framework of resolution 4350 of the Ministry of Transportation that establishes the methodology for analyzing the cost basket of the transportation sector, fixed costs, maintenance, variable costs and capital costs to adjust the cost structure of the sector year after year ”.
