Caps vs Islands first name: Back of the tiger

I will not even try and sugarcoat, the capitals looked like absolute trash in Game One. I’ve shifted my mentality to “things could not be worse for Game Two … right ?!” that’s probably a mistake on my part, but here we are! Let’s go on, shall we?

The capitals face off against the New York Islanders for Game Two and to say they need to make any changes is an understatement. Nick Backstrom will be out of line-up due to a gross hit of Anders Lee of the time Game One. In better news, Lars Eller is back! Hopefully, the addition of Eller, and the heightened emotions of the way the last game ended, can breathe a little more life into this team. It’s not like Eller did it before.

The puck will drop at 8pm and Mr. Peter Hassett will have your recipe.

Take up 35-23-10 41-20-8
Shot Attempt% 46.4% 51.8%
BOB 100.1 100.5
Power Play 17.3% (24th) 19.4% (17th)
Penalty Kill 80.7% (15th) 82.6% (6th)

Projected lines

Nick Backstrom is out and in concussion protocol. Lars Eller is back in and Braden Holtby is in net. The lines should look like this:

Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Wilson
Vrana – Eller – Oshie
Hagelin – Boyd – Kovalchuk
Panik – Dowd – Hathaway

Kempny – Carlson
Dillon – Orlov
Siegenthaler – Jensen

Holtby

Envious of the lineup for the Islanders? It will be exactly the same:

Nathan MacKinnon

Remains to be the only NHL player I respect from Cole Harbor.
