According to the Los Angeles Times, police arrested a California man after learning that his two children had been separated from their home.

Attorney Howard Kern, who has been Taylor’s client for about seven years, told the outlet that he called the fire department after he and others tried to contact the sheriff’s department to voice their concerns.
Kern said he told firefighters they were concerned about “possible gas leakage.” He added that Taylor, whose bail was set at 20 million, was a kind person he knew.
“Think of the best person you know, then increase it to five,” Kern told the Times. “He worked very hard to support himself. Unfortunately, that’s not enough to tell us what happened or didn’t happen.”
