IN The Supreme Administrative Prosecutor’s Office (VAP) referred the Minister of Health, the Executive Director of the Executive Agency for Medicines (BDA) and the Director of the National Revenue Agency (NRA) to organize and carry out inspections due to shortages of medicines in hospitals and pharmacies from the country. announced by the press center of the Prosecutor’s Office.
A file has been opened in the VAP based on information in the media, alleging that there is a serious shortage of certain drugs in pharmacies.
The assigned inspections must establish if there is a shortage of medicines in the country’s hospitals and pharmacies and, if so, if the latter is due to their retention by holders of marketing authorizations, manufacturers, importers, wholesalers of medicines and substances, intermediaries in the field of medicines, pharmacies and drug stores, and then take concrete measures.
It should also be established if there is a greater export of vital drugs to the system. If it exists, the Ministry of Health (MH) must take immediate measures to minimize or compensate for the shortage of medicines in hospitals and pharmacies in the country.
The Ministry of Health received data from the Ministry of Health on the companies that have participations for the wholesale trade of medicines, which can carry out such actions. The ANR should provide assistance for the purposes of inspection in this line for the identification of companies.
A summary report of the inspections should be sent to the VAP as soon as possible.
