An unknown vandal smashed the windshield of the Sofia – Burgas fast train locomotive during the movement between Belovo and Septemvri, BDZ reported.
The driver and the assistant driver were injured by the scattered windows in the cab of the locomotive. The accident occurred during the passage of fast trains from Sofia to Burgas and from Stara Zagora to Sofia. From the last car of the Stara Zagora train, an unknown person threw a hard object at the locomotive of the train approaching Burgas, as a result of which the windshield of the machine was smashed.
The incident was reported on 112 and BDZ hopes that the competent authorities will identify and arrest the perpetrator. Due to the accident, the fast train to Burgas stopped at Septemvri station for 62 minutes.
BDZ insists that such events are not only a serious invasion of BDZ property and locomotive personnel, but also endanger the lives and health of the train passengers.
