“The women of the Nos Mata System were admitted to the parliament office. I have not ordered anything from the National Security Service, they are fulfilling their duties,” Speaker of parliament Tsveta Karayancheva, whose resignation demanded yesterday’s protest, told BTV. On September 16, after it became known that the mothers did not want to voluntarily leave the building and threatened to stay until the resignation of the prime minister and the chief prosecutor, Karayancheva made a statement to the media asking the National Security Service to comply with obligations. that it will not allow an occupation, as the nurses protesting months ago did (a video of Karayancheva’s speech can be seen here on the block at 3:45 pm). The protesters had entered the building to demand meetings with lawmakers in support of their demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev.
Yesterday, the resignation of the President of Parliament was demanded by the BSP, MRF and Maya Manolova.
Karayancheva joined BTV by phone in response to statements by Anton Kutev of the BSP, according to which women did not have such access to the office. According to her, at 10 o’clock they delivered a statement addressed to all the parliamentarians who want to meet with them.
“The Minister of Health has an order since February for the access regime in the respective institutions. This order is still in force because we are in an epidemic crisis,” explained the president of the parliament. He also pointed out that there are rules according to which, once a visitor has finished his work and finishes his meeting, he must leave the National Assembly in 30 minutes.
According to her, the BSP and other parties, as well as Maya Manolova, have used the situation for political purposes.
