The Minister of Health angrily demanded the resignation of the head of a Sofia hospital due to scandalous duty during K-19

I demand the resignation of the director of the Fourth City Hospital in the capital. This was written by the Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov on his Facebook account.

I saw the BNT material “How a duty goes during COVID-19” several times. The Ministry said at the beginning of the pandemic “a test of coronavirus infection cannot be a condition for hospitalization.”

There are heads of hospitals who keep pretending to be misunderstood, there is no written record of how they ask people for tests, which makes any control useless. In this case, we are even talking about a proven COVID-19.

Other managers stubbornly refuse to open beds, keeping “clean hospitals.”

It will not happen!

After the 20 seconds I heard on BNT: I urge Mayor Fandakova to demand the resignation of the director of the Fourth City. Is there or is there no organization and what is it – the LZ manager is responsible.

For those who refuse to find beds, I present a legal text in the National Assembly, on the basis of which these hospitals will not work with the NHIF.
“Okay, a ‘clean hospital’, but without public funding,” he wrote.

On Friday, BNT aired a footage showing how an on-call team at the capital’s Emergency Department was on duty.

Dr. Lund’s night shift begins with a COVID-19 signal. They put on their protective suits and the ambulance leaves for the direction. The patient is 70 years old with a proven coronavirus. According to his wife, he had a seizure. A few minutes later the team is at the entrance.

However, it turned out to be well known to the doctor. The doctor had been here again the day before. It turns out that the patient is the same. However, he is already breathing heavily and cannot control his temperature.

Dr. Lund came over to examine him and found that he was unable to take medication. The reason: a severe stomach problem, because the drugs cannot be absorbed by the body.

The doctor decided to seek an opportunity for hospitalization and after a conversation with the Coordination Center, he was referred to the Fourth City Hospital. There, however, a surprise awaits them. Shortly before them, another case of a patient with COVID-19 was admitted to the medical institution, so the doctor on duty is in the room.

Twenty minutes later, you still don’t know there is a new patient waiting in the curbside ambulance.

“Here are those who greet us, the two great specialists, the nurse and the security guards, smoking, with masks under the nose and under the chin. There is no officer on duty, there is, but I don’t see it!” , Says Dr. Dimitar Lund.

Another 10 minutes pass. Dr. Lund is very nervous. And the patient is still waiting in the ambulance.

“You may have a shortage of beds, a shortage of staff, we certainly have it, but the most important thing is that we have a shortage of system. This is the base! Even if you get the other 2 things, it will do nothing! A situation force majeure! like the pandemic, it just revealed the truth! ”he added.

The doctor on duty at the hospital finally shows up. Along with it comes the first problem: hospitalization is impossible without a document from the Coordination Center and a positive PCR. The emergency team did not have them, the Coordination Center referred them to the hospital by phone and the positive test was not printed.

This has to be explained several times, first to the duty officer and then to your boss. After a long administrative dispute, an even longer professional one follows. Whether or not the patient meets the conditions for hospitalization, the two doctors present their interpretation on the subject. The result: the patient will not be accepted.

The boss orders the doctor on duty what to write on the documents and the ambulance must return the patient to his home. It has been almost two hours since they arrived in front of the hospital. So far no one from the hospital has seen the patient to check his condition. This is Dr. Lund’s main criticism.

However, the doctor on duty decided to see him. The ER doctor is having long new conversations with the Coordination Center. The patient himself comments on what is happening as a misfortune. And while the ambulance team explains the reasons for this, the doctor on duty reappears on the sidewalk and declares that she will receive the patient on her own.

The ER doctor’s reaction: “I’d shake your hand, but I’m dirty and I can’t!”

The patient will continue to enter. When they told him in the ambulance, he couldn’t believe it. And he asks the doctor why he’s still here. The answer is indicative: – That is why they are taking photos, today is my last duty, I am in Stuttgart next month … I am leaving …

BNT’s report sparked thousands of reactions and shares on social media. People do not hide their outrage that the system is not prepared for the long-term fight against the coronavirus.

“… No doctors have fired them. Thanks to the Emergency Relief team and BNT. Watch out, stay with them and don’t forget. Don’t forget,” Mitko Pavlov wrote.

“The shocking reality of our healthcare system,” said Ivaylo Mirchev. The situation is “surviving alone,” Nadezhda Yordanova added in a comment below her post.
