The Bulgarian Restaurant Association and the Restaurant Association issued a statement to the government urging that the restaurants be opened on February 1.

The letter is addressed to the Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov, the Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, the Minister of the Economy Lachezar Borisov, the Minister of Social Affairs Denitsa Sacheva and the Minister of Tourism Mariana Nikolova:

After talking with association members and other industry representatives, as well as representatives of the staff, we have the following proposals to ease tensions:

1. All catering establishments will open on 02.01.2021 in accordance with all anti-epidemic measures in force before the prohibition to work. Night clubs to open on 12.02.2021

2. Payment of compensation to staff for November and December – until 01.31.2021.

3. Payment of the compensation of the personnel corresponding to the month of January within 10 days following the application date.

4. Payment of compensation for closed sites – until 31.01.2021.

5. The idea of ​​gradual opening should be carried out as follows: Each owner should consider whether to postpone the opening of their site / sites, since those who choose to open at a later stage, will receive as an incentive and compensation 20% on the basis turnover and its staff – 75% of insurance proceeds.
