There are violations in the case of the deceased woman, returned from five hospitals. This is the conclusion of RHI-Plovdiv. The Criminal Police and the District Prosecutor’s Office in Plovdiv have also started their inspection, Nova reports.
We remind you that the 49-year-old woman died after several hospitals in Plovdiv refused to accept her for treatment, her relatives say. He died in the last hospital he could get to.
Mirella’s mother showed symptoms of a runny nose and cough, but it worsened on the third day. The GP referred them to an ambulance on suspicion that she was infected with COVID-19.
After two exams and an antibiotic, the 49-year-old’s relatives decided to visit the emergency department at St. George’s University Hospital on their own. But from there they are fired.
“They said there were no places at the Infectious Disease Clinic and they sent us to Transportna, and they didn’t even examine her there,” said Mirela Bochukova, daughter of the deceased. The explanation is that the severe chronic lung disease cases were handled solely by St. George Hospital. There the other medical establishments sent their doctors.
“We started walking with her through the hospitals at 17:00. At 7:30 on Saturday she was admitted. It’s almost 6 in the afternoon, ”said her daughter Mirela. Eventually, the woman was admitted to St. Panteleimon Municipal Hospital, where she died a few hours after admission. Only then did it become clear that her COVID-19 test was negative.
“The reason is cardiac arrest and respiratory failure. Unfortunately, she had a concomitant chronic illness, which also had an impact on the general condition of the woman,” explained Dr. Konstantin Sapundzhiev, director of St. Panteleimon Hospital.
St. George University Hospital said in their post that they performed two exams on the patient and did a PCR test. Due to the lack of free beds, they informed the Emergency Service that they could not accept it.
The Plovdiv Health Inspectorate carried out an inspection. He found that the hospitals did not have resuscitation equipment. The reason is that they are on call at the Infectious Disease Clinic.
“The rape is that she was not even admitted. Especially the second time, after it was found that she had pneumonia, she had to be admitted to another ward of” St. Georgi “”, explained Dr. Argir Argirov, deputy director of RHI- Plovdiv.
The Medical Supervision Agency will decide whether to sanction the medical institution. The Plovdiv Criminal Police and District Prosecutor’s Office also began their inspection.
